Botanical Garden

Botanical Garden is a 4320m2 green area located in the southern part of the Higashiyama Campus of Nagoya University. It was created in 1963 as an experimental field for the Department of Biology, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Nagoya University, and plants for research and education were cultivated. After the transfer to the Faculty of Information Design and Culture and the Graduate School of Human Informatics due to the abolition of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the museum has been managing and operating since 2003. A seminar house was opened in March 2004 and has been used for a wide range of natural education. There are about 800 species of plants in this botanical garden (including 200 species in the greenhouses).
