The Nadanhada Terrane

The Nadanhada Terrane, composed mainly of Permian limestone and greenstone, Triassic chert, and Jurassic siliceous shale and sandstone, occupies the Nadanhada range of northeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, NE China. Mizutani and Kojima visited this area in 1986 together with our Chinese colleagues (Shao,J.A. of Peking University and Zhang,Q.L. of Nanjing University). This terrane is very similar to the Mino terrane of Japan in its lithological association, biostratigraphic range, and deformation pattern of rock-formation, and is believed to have been part of an ancient superterrane which was distributed in the eastern continental margin of Asia in early Cretaceous time.
