Khabarovsk (The W.Sikhote-Alin Terrane)
Khabarovsk is located in southern part of the Nadanhada-West-Sikhote-Alin Terrane (Mizutani and Kojima, 1992). This terrane belongs to a melange terrane made up of sedimentary-rock complex of accretion origin, which was formed along the eastern continental margin of Asia in late Jurassic to early Cretaceous time. Kojima and others have collected a few rock-specimens from outcrops exposed along the Amur River, and they have extracted radiolarian fossils from them. Paleontological and biostratigraphical studies have been carried out by comparing these fossils with those of the Nadanhada terrane and of the Mino terrane.
