The Tetori Group
The Tetori Group, ranging in age from Jurassic to Cretaceous, unconformably covers the Hida metamorphic rocks. Although the Tetori Group is partly same in age as the Jurassic formation of the Mino Terrane, there is a marked contrast of sedimentary facies beween them. The Tetori Group is shallow marine to brackish and very coarse and thick, while the Radiolaria-bearing Jurassic formation in the Mino Terrane is fine and thin. The radiolarian fossils in the Tetori Group is found only in clasts of conglomerate intercalating coarse epiclastic facies. The following report is an example.
